Funders

LACC's 2011-2012 concert season and core educational program are made possible, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division.  LACC is also deeply grateful to the hundreds of individual, foundation and corporate donors whose dedicated support sustains the Chorus' annual choral music program for children.

A Rare Matching Grant Opportunity
for LACC!

The Colburn Foundation will match new or increased gifts to LACC received by November 30, 2011, up to $5,000!

There has never been a better time to make a first gift to LACC, as the Colburn Foundation will match it,

doubling the impact of your gift.

If you already support the Chorus, any increase in your recent past giving to LACC will qualify for the match. For instance, if you gave $10 last year and $20 this year, $10 of your gift will be matched.

You can make an important difference in the lives of young people from all over Los Angeles who have found a nurturing musical home at LACC.

At LACC we learn discipline, hard work and dedication. We gain the best of friends and are able to share in some of the most amazing experiences. -LACC chorister

The fun starts at 6:30pm with FES' first interactive presentation (second one at 7:30pm) in the Humanities Wing of the library.  Starting at 8:00pm, experience the extraordinary sounds of LACC's Concert Choir as they take the stage in the library's historic Donald R.  LACC's Community Interaction Director: Lissie Quishenberry

Lissie Quishenberry serves as LACC's new Community Interaction Director, administering the First Experiences in Singing program and directing the new First Experiences in Choral Singing Ensemble.  She also teaches Level 5 musicianship and is a mother of three LACC choristers!

Lissie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from La Sierra University, where she studied Elementary Education and Music.  After years of classroom teaching, she received her certification in both the Orff and Kodály approaches to music education, and enjoys applying both in many classroom and choir settings.  She is currently studying at Cal State LA to receive her secondary music teaching credential, followed by a Master's degree in music education.

LACC in Philip Glass' Powaqqatsi

Los Angeles Children's Chorus performed Powaqqatsi with the Philip Glass Ensemble on August 30th at the Hollywood Bowl and received a wonderful review!

"The L.A. Children's Chorus made the biggest impression, their massed voices were thrilling from the first moments of the evening when they began the national anthem a cappella." -- Mark Swed, L.A. Times
